Kodak Prinergy is the most innovative and flexible workflow management solution available to leverage the power of PDF. Based on state-of-the-art technologies and open industry-standards like Adobe Extreme and PDF, Prinergy is the only end-to-end PDF workflow solution on the market, and delivers an elegant and complete workflow management tool that organizes page processing, proofing, CTF, and CTP.
Prinergy uses Job Tickets to carry processing instructions through the system. These process plans can be linked together as production templates known as Workflow Plans to create automated prepress workflows. The Prinergy architecture enables a distributed workflow, late-stage editing, and support for multiple output devices. The client-server architecture enables processing to be distributed over multiple software and hardware resources. It also contains a powerful Oracle® database, which stores job status and history, linking any errors to specific job-elements to aid in trouble-shooting.
Products within the Prinergy family are all scalable to a multi-server, multi-user environment, where software can be distributed over multiple computers to increase system throughput. Software components can be added as needed and Prinergy systems automatically load-balance resources to ensure that users always get maximum system performance. Prinergy leverages industry-standard technology to support third-party plug-ins for increased functionality and makes it possible to drive third-party output devices.

Prinergy is page-based, which makes for fast editing and proofing cycles. Prinergy uses PDF as its internal file format. PDF pages are easy to view, small in size, and can be password protected or edited as required.
Organize customer data with real job context
Prinergy organizes customer data in such a way that files are stored and organized by job name. This enables operators to see where each job is at in the plant, providing greater communication and visibility within the team. Work can be prioritized by job, and multiple jobs can be processed simultaneously.
Achieve unmatched flexibility with JIT imposition
Prinergy interprets jobs in the workflow up front, but doesn't render until just before output. This gives printers unsurpassed flexibility in prepress. Prinergy is a page-based workflow, and only applies an imposition template to the job at the time of output. This allows imposition templates to be added or replaced quickly at any time in the workflow.
Relieve bottlenecks with component distribution
Because Prinergy is scaleable, additional clients can be added to the system to boost capacity without having to buy another Prinergy unit. The architecture and licensing system allows printers to add individual components and distribute software over multiple servers to address specific bottlenecks and increase system throughput.
Track job information with memory management
Prinergy is the system that remembers. Its Oracle database intelligently tracks job information throughout the workflow. Job information is used in error reporting and recovery, or can be output to a report for billing purposes.

Prinergy automates repetitive tasks to reduce the overall number of mouse clicks in prepress. User-defined pipeline or process plans can also be created to take a job from input to page proof. Prinergy's automation reduces operator errors and streamlines the workflow to increase productivity.

Prinergy inputs multiple industry-standard file formats and connects to a wide variety of output devices. Based on the Adobe PDF file format, Prinergy will continue to support PDF desktop tools like Adobe Acrobat® and Acrobat plug-ins. Formats supported include PDF, PostScript Level 2 and 3 (separated or composite), Copydot, EPS, TIFF/IT, and CT/LW.
