Vision Graphics upgrades Kodak InSite Prepress Portal
Mar 29, 2008—Vision Graphics has upgraded its Kodak InSite Prepress Portal to version 5.0, enhancing our customers’ productivity and ability to collaborate.
The InSite Prepress Portal System enables faster turnaround time by allowing users to submit content and have it proofed for final approval online. The user interface in Version 5.0 provides a new look, designed for performance, flexibility and ease of use, and includes a powerful new version of the Kodak Smart Review Proofing Client.
A new Smart Review feature allows pages in a job to be easily verified for confirmation and review of required changes. The Compare function enables two pages to be viewed side by side, along with a third image that shows all of the differences between the two. Differences can be displayed in a variety of ways, including the ability to zoom in on a page to see particular areas in greater detail.
InSite Prepress Portal System Version 5.0 gives users control over the information they see about job activity through event based e-mail notifications. For example, a user may only need to know about upload activity for a particular job. By subscribing to just that event, users don’t receive notifications for any other events, which helps reduce the quantity of e-mail in a user’s inbox.
Other features in InSite Prepress Portal System Version 5.0 include the ability to group pages and preview new pages. Enhanced Search features provide various options for finding all work in progress, reducing the time it takes to locate jobs.
Kodak InSite 5.0 is a major upgrade that helps Vision Graphics customers significantly enhance their productivity and accuracy when submitting, reviewing and approving jobs for print.
Vision Graphics upgrades Kodak Prinergy prepress workflow system
Mar 8, 2008—Vision Graphics is pleased to feature Prinergy Connect version 4.0, the latest in Kodak’s commercial prepress workflow solution. Prinergy 4.0 integrates Adobe’s new PDF Print Engine with enhanced transparency capabilities that reduce the occurrence of artifacts and increases the speed, consistency, and reliability of the processing of complex files that include transparency elements. Prinergy 4.0 also delivers enhanced Layered PDF Versioning, introducing support for layered PDF input files.
“Dashboard,” a new Prinergy system introduced in version 4, offers prepress management and customer service representatives a better visibility into the production process.
Other features include enhanced options for production reporting and automated data exchange between MIS systems; an optional Digital Print Manager software that enables automated digital print production; and enhanced Rules-Based Automation that expands the range of production events supported, resulting in greater JDF support, flexibility, and control in production.
Vision Graphics upgrades Internet connection, adds bandwidth
Feb 18, 2008—Vision Graphics has just completed a substantial overhaul of our Internet presence. We’ve upgraded to a 5-megabit/sec fiber-optic Internet connection that’s nearly four times as fast as our old T1.
If you purchase printing through our online stores, if you upload and download files via InSite or FTP, or if you review and approve your jobs through InSite, your online exchanges with us will now happen much faster.
We also used this opportunity to upgrade our network security equipment—both to keep up with the faster connection and to provide world-class security and protection for our customers’ valuable files.
